I don't believe in "safe" records. In a world of digital perfection, safe is boring. I am convinced that no listener cares about the technical specs of a compressor or the frequency curve of an EQ. They only care about how the song makes them feel.
I view mixing and production as a form of sculpting. Chipping away the marble to reveal the song's true identity. It's about finding one element that matters most in every section and building the entire sonic landscape around it.
My craft was radically elevated during immersive residencies at La Fabrique with Shawn Everett (The War on Drugs, Alabama Shakes, The Killers) and at Rue Boyer with Tom Elmhirst (Adele, David Bowie, Lorde). Being in the room with them didn't just improve my technique. It completely changed my thinking.
The biggest lesson wasn't about gear. It was about fearlessness.
I learned that standing on the edge is where the magic happens. And everything you experience outside of the studio shapes the decisions you make inside it. It's all connected.
My goal is to bring this fearless mindset to your art, making it timeless, distinctive, and true to you.
